Pekka Persson and Hamdy Reda started their collaboration in 2007 when Person visited Cairo and was invited to exhibit in Art El Lewa, a local art scene established by Reda. They have spent the last couple of years exploring each other's environments and as a result emerges an exhibition playing with the idea of two worlds reflected as one.
The exhibition is named 30 degrees referring to the geographical distance between Cairo and Oslo. Although the cities may seem far apart, the dialogue between the artists focuses on similarities rather than contrasts. It visualizes the shared human aspects of urban life which link the two cities together and beautifully fits fragments, moments and people from Cairo and Oslo into one frame.
The exhibition consists of photographies, a slide show and a video installation. It is free of charge and open until 9 July.
