Opening of the renovated Embassy building

24/02/2010 // 0n 16th of February, State Secretary Gry Larsen from the Ministry of Foreign affairs in Oslo officially opened the renovated Norwegian embassy in Cairo. Almost a year and half after the works started in 2008, the embassy building now presents itself as almost brand new.

0n 16 February, State Secretary Gry Larsen from the Ministry of Foreign affairs in Oslo officially opened the renovated Norwegian embassy in Cairo. Almost a year and half after the works started  in 2008, the embassy building now presents itself as almost brand new.  The staff is very pleased that the construction is now finalised, and look forward to working in the new environment. Not only have the premisees been renovated; in addition brand new furniture both in the chancery and the residence is in place.

 

At the opening, ambassadors of the Nordic countries, the Chief of Protocol in the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives from the Norwegian ministry of Foreign Affairs, Norwegian Property Management Department, Jotun, the building consultants BECT and  the contractor Abou Gabal participated, in addition to the embassy staff.
