Increase in bilateral trade

Bilateral trade between Norway and Egypt soared in 2007. Total trade increased by 64%.

23/06/2008 :: Total bilateral trade was 683m NOK in 2007, compared to 417m NOK the year before. Norwegian exports to Egypt were 361m NOK, whereas Egyptian exports to Norway equalled 322m NOK.

At a value of 164.5m NOK, machinery and electric machinery were the biggest export categories to Egypt in 2007, with fish and seafood a strong number two at 63m NOK. Other important exports include medical and optical instruments.

The main Egyptian exports to Norway are Mineral Fuel/Oil at 98.6m NOK, elctrical machinery at 60m NOK, fruits and nuts at 42.8m, and woven apparel at 32.5m.
