Norwegian Minister for Culture and Church Affairs, Mr. Trond Giske, and Egyptian Minister of Culture, Mr. Farouk Hosni, met in Luxor from 27-30 October to discuss bilateral cooperation in the field of culture between Norway and Egypt. The meeting was a follow-up from talks between the two ministers during the Peer Gynt/Ibsen festival in October 2006.
07/11/2007 :: The aim of the meeting was to promote mutual understanding, dialogue and cooperation in the field of culture between the two countries. The two ministers were accompanied by broad delegations, composed of artists and intellectuals. The program included the seminar "Opportunities and Chanllenges", where the follwoing topics were discussed: ”Cooperation and Conflict in the era of globilzation”, “Enhancing the role of women and Youth in Cultural development” and “Promoting Cultural Cooperation between Egypt and Norway throught New Cultural Policies”.
