The Norwegian jazz quartet The Source performed with Sharkiat Fathy Salama at the Sawy Culture Wheel on Wednesday 7 December.
08/12/2005 :: Norwegian jazz quartet The Source played traditional Christmas carols in untraditional ways together with Sharkiat Fathy Salama and special guest artists Alfred Gamil, Dan Furst, Ahmed Harfoush in a concert at Sawy Culture Wheel on Wednesday December 7.
The concert ranged from American classics such as "White Christmas" to the Norwegian traditional Christmas carol "På låven sitter nissen". All songs were, however, performed with a certain twist - much to the delight of the audience.
Trygve Seim of The Source has visited Egypt three times during 2005, and has established close contacts with Fathy Salama and other Egyptian musicians. As a natural next step in the musical cooperation, a group of Egyptian musicians is going to Norway before Christmas to perform traditional Christmas carols with an oriental twist.
Norwegians certainly have something to look forward to.
